Easter is a day of victory! We celebrate the fact that after dying for the sins of the world, Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day. Jesus' resurrection is God's proof that your sins have been paid for, God's grace is for you and heaven is your home.
That continues to be true, even as we face the current Covid-19 pandemic. Here in Cobb County, we've been told that the restriction against public worship is going to take us at least through Easter Sunday (currently until April 15th; Easter is April 12th). Though we can't worship in the same room, we'll stream worship at at 11am on Easter.
We’re not going to let those restrictions keep us from seeing each other this Easter. I’m asking as many of you as possible to take part in our “Because he lives” video project.
Here’s how it works. Using your cell phone, take a quick video – no more than 5-7 seconds – of you or your family sharing your Easter joy by finishing the sentence, “Because he lives…” What special comfort do you have this Easter through Jesus’ resurrection? Maybe for you it’s “Because he lives, I can face this without fear.” “Because Jesus lives, I know I’ll meet my grandma in heaven.” “Because he lives, I know I stand forgiven by God.”
That’s it. It just takes a few seconds. Once you have it recorded, text or email it to Pastor Seifert (770.686.9686 or firstname.lastname@example.org). We’ll splice all those videos together and include it as part of our live-streamed Easter Sunday service so we can all see each other. And if you’re a past member of ours that’s moved away and seeing this message, it’d always be good to see your face, too. If you get your video to me by Palm Sunday – April 5th – we’ll include them. God be with you till we meet again!
